A Kenya flag bracelet designed on MaSanaa's customizer
Going from a custom bracelet design on your screen to the actual bracelet on your wrist is a pretty straight-forward process. Here are the steps:
Let's dive in.
Design is done on MaSanaa's website using the Customizer which is designed to be super friendly and easy to use. The Customizer is a design visualization software intentionally designed for the web to make it accessible through as many devices as possible. It does real-time design rendering. It is designed to help validate designs prior to production. It works well both on small screens such as those on mobile devices, and big screens such as those on tablets, laptops and desktop computers. The Customizer offers options such as bead colors, wrist sizes and bracelet sizes. It also offers the option of doing the design in 2D view as well as 3D view. Additionally it allows the user to download the design images in case they would like to share them with other people or save them on their device for future reference. The customizer also updates the price of the product in real time to allow the customer to know exactly how much the bracelet will cost before they place their order. A handy 'Order' button on the app allows the customer to go straight to placing their order.
Communication with customer service at MaSanaa can be done via chat on WhatsApp, direct messaging on social media platforms, or phone call. Chat-based modes of communication are the best as they preserves a history of communication and make it easy to reference shared documents such as design images.
The cost of the bracelet is always indicated on the customizer as well as the downloadable design images. However, the customer may need additional products or services, such as overseas shipping or doorstep delivery, which have to be costed separately. Alternatively, the customer may prefer to collect the bracelet at MaSanaa's physical location. Once the delivery specifics have been ironed out, a final quote is given to the customer. At MaSanaa, we take multiple forms of payment which include mobile-money (the prevalent from of cashless payment in Kenya) as well as card payments.
During production we, or any other bead artist, take utmost care to produce the bracelet exactly as is in the design image. Working with design images is hugely beneficial because it eliminates any guess-work around the customer's design and size preferences. It allows prototype-free production, allowing us or any other bead artist to get the product right on the first try. After production, inspection is done to ensure the bracelet matches the design images and meets quality standards.
The finished bracelet moves from the production facility to the customer through a logistics service provider. Arrangements are made according to the customer's preference to either deliver the bracelet directly to the customer or to a pickup location where the customer, at their own convenience, can collect it. Cost plays a role in the choice of either collection or doorstep delivery as delivery tends to cost more.
After collection or delivery, we reach out to the customer to find out if the bracelet met their expectations. This follow-up also allows us to get any other feedback that the customer may have for us having gone through the purchase journey.
There you have it, the entire process of going from a bracelet design idea to an actual bracelet on your wrist. Thank you for taking time to read through this article. See you in the next one.
